The Year of the Fire Rooster has officially begun!

The new year is always a good time to reaffirm that which helps us to grow and to release things, actions or people that no longer serve us or hold us back from pursuing dreams and ambitions. Thus I currently have bittersweet feelings as I allow my lease to expire at my office. I will miss the breathtaking views over the golf course and the peace and quiet. But most of all  the special times when I was visited by sweet "Marshall", the resident TNR'd kitty of the office complex. Fortunately someone in the office complex is his caretaker so I know he is good hands. Now I am back to full-time real estate during the days, but still making the time to write and participate in my other hobbies.

2016 turned out to be a year of receiving some unexpected recognition.  I was honored to receive awards for my writing so I plan to make time to keep that going. My personal memoir, Me, My Ferals & I, was the recipient of two Certificates of Excellence and a Muse Medallion Award for "Photographic Art" in the 2015 Cat Writer's Association international writing competition! And the book that I contributed a chapter to, Ignite Your Life: The World's Leading Entrepreneurs and Professionals Reveal Their Secrets to Ignite Your Health, Wealth and Success by Brian Tracy ended up being on the Best Seller's List! For that I flew to Hollywood, CA to receive a trophy as a Best Selling Author.

Additionally my sister and I both qualified for the Senior Nationals in Birmingham, AL in June in archery. I will be competing in the barebow recurve  division, having qualified by placing first in my class at the Florida State Championships in December of 2015. I am very excited about the opportunity to be one of the competitors representing the State of Florida in this U.S. competition! I also plan on continuing my bagpipe performances to keep my mind and body challenged.

And in a different realm, I was so honored to play in and at a variety of bagpipe events. I felt honored in so many ways and will always treasure those times when music can touch the souls of those opening their hearts to listen.

It will be hard to beat my successes of last year, but I'm gonna do my best! In closing, be sure to take care of yourself and find the down-time you need for rejuvenation. May 2017 and the "Year of the Fire Rooster" continue to be an awesome year for you and your loved ones, bringing an infinite supply of adventure and opportunities!
