The Year of the Fire Rooster !

The new year is always a good time to reaffirm that which helps us to grow and to release things, actions or people that no longer serve us or hold us back from pursuing dreams and ambitions. 2016 turned out to be a year of receiving some unexpected recognition.  I was honored to receive awards for my writing so I plan to make time to keep that going. My personal memoir, Me, My Ferals & I, was the recipient of two Certificates of Excellence and a Muse Medallion Award for "Photographic Art" in the 2015 Cat Writer's Association international writing competition! And the book that I contributed a chapter to, Ignite Your Life: The World's Leading Entrepreneurs and Professionals Reveal Their Secrets to Ignite Your Health, Wealth and Success by Brian Tracy ended up being on the Best Seller's List! For that I flew to Hollywood, CA to receive a trophy as a Best Selling Author.

And this year has already revealed some anticipated surprises. My sister and I both qualified for the National Senior Games in Birmingham, AL in June in archery by placing in the Florida championships last December. As a result, we competed in June and both of us took home medals! My sister took a bronze in the compound release division and I received a gold medal and broke two national records - highest one-day score and highest two-day score - in the barebow recurve division. I am definitely stoked to keep this going!

And in a different realm, I was so honored to play in and at a variety of bagpipe events. I felt honored in so many ways and will always treasure those times when music can touch the souls of those opening their hearts to listen. In July I was honored to attend a week-long workshop at the North America Academy of Pipes and Drums in North Carolina and had a fantastic week of learning from talented instructors and fellow students.

May 2017 and the "Year of the Fire Rooster" continue to be an awesome year for you and your loved ones, bringing an infinite supply of adventure and opportunities!
