What's New?

Happy Holidays!

I hope this letter finds you in the holiday spirit, enjoying the cooler weather, at the same time finding creative ways to stay warm, dry and hydrated, getting plenty of exercise to de-stress.

Massages are a great way to get rid of the holiday tension. When you receive a massage your heart rate, body temperature and even blood pressure all go down. Plus you get to have a whole hour to yourself!

Speaking of that, Gift Certificates for massage make awesome gifts and you don't have to fight the crowds at the mall to get one! It's always a pleasure to receive a massage and who couldn't use some time for themselves? In fact, buy one for yourself too!

As for new happenings, I am now a student at the Taiji Kungfu Academy on 103rd St. here in Jacksonville. It's wonderful to once again be a "student" and I have some awesome instructors! I just recently competed in the World Wushu Kungfu championships here in Jacksonville and was lucky enough to receive a gold medal in my Kungfu division and a silver medal in my Tai Chi division. I've got the bug now!

As for non-business related endeavors, I continue entertaining my two dogs, Valkyrie and Nova,  on a daily basis with Frisbees. Competition season kicks back up in the Spring, when the dogs once again get their "frisky" on!

I've also stayed active with my "faux-feral" cat adventures, expanding into some community involvement  and trying my hand at writing. I once again was fortunate enough to have an article I wrote published as the full Backpage Editorial in the Folio Weekly Magazine this past October, informing the readers about the plight of the feral cats and telling my personal story of how I got involved and the rescue of my Momma Kitty. I also was a featured caretaker in a Florida Times Union article about National Feral Cat Day. Subsequently, however, I was then actively involved in an attempt to stop trappers from destroying a colony I originally helped TNR. We lost some cats to the trappers but at least our efforts stopped the trapping for now. That is still a work in process and has been quite enlightening as to what people can do with pet cats and dogs.

As for more positive kitty stuff, I'm still working on my memoir, "Me, My Ferals and I", but finding it difficult to create an ending - when working with animals, the adventure never ends. There may be a trilogy!

So that's my life in a nutshell right now. No trips to foreign countries, opening a store specializing in carrot cake or even taking up gator wrestling. Please feel free to call or email anytime  if you feel a desire to utilize any of my services.

In closing, may the Year of the Rabbit continue to bring you good fortune, unlimited adventures, excellent health, peace and serenity!
